Station Manager David Rowell can occasionally be heard on air, helping out, but most of the time is not as visible as the main on-air "personalities".
David likes to joke that he is more a country boy than anyone else in the station. He comes from a place where the sheep outnumbered people, formerly by about 25 to one, and which produces more dairy products per person than anywhere else in the world. As evidence of that past, he still has a distinctive accent. He describes himself as an American by choice, not by birth, and is appreciatively proud of now being a Texan.
He presents the Saturday night "Classic Country Call-In" show from 7pm to midnight. You can phone or text in your requests to our studio hot-line, 979 543-9610, any time during the week, and he'll play as many as he can each Saturday night.
Because it is _classic_ country, we ask you choose songs released more or less prior to 2000.
