9th Annual SPOT Trot/5K Race

The 9th Annual SPOT Trot/5K Race, in memory of Amber Hensarling, doctor of veterinary medcine, will be held Saturday, October 14, at Riverfront Park in Wharton. Registration is on-site only starting at 8 am; 5K at 9 am and Trot and activities at 10 am. Amber Hensarling, was a resident of Wharton with a genuine love and compassion for people and animals. She lost her life at age 24 while in her last year of veterinary school at Texas A&M University. The SPOT Trot/5K Race honors her and her commitment to animals. Besides a 5K Race and one-mile Trot, there will be music, concessions, contests, activities for all ages and pets, a raffle, and a Chip and Clip booth. For $20 you can get your dog microchipped and nails clipped. Sponsorships are still available at Chihuahua, Beagle, Labrador Retriever and Great Dane levels.
